Infrared cameras translate the warmth signatures of objects into hues on the gradient scale, with greater temperatures appearing as lighter hues, and decrease temperatures and moist areas showing as darker colours.  Also referred to as thermal imaging and thermography, IR technology captures the light that exists just outside the seen spectrum.
